 Hydrogen
acts similarly to natural gas and is the energy storage medium of the future.
It will power mobile and peak energy demands, so that transient sources such as
wind and solar can form the backbone of energy generation until nuclear fusion
or some other advanced technique can assume this role in a few decades into the
future. Hydrogen will be generated by the electrolysis of water from the
surplus generation of wind and solar plants.
